The Euromaidan (or the Maidan Uprising) from December 2013 to February 2014 continues to shape Ukrainian and European politics as well as geopolitical developments to this day. For the second time since Ukraine's independence in 1991, people took to the streets against a system that, according to a large part of the population, had become excessively corrupt, partly criminal, and alarmingly incompetent.
I took these short clips and images in February 2014 with a mobile phone that was common at the time, so the quality is accordingly limited. A few pictures were taken with a proper camera. The faces of people who could possibly be identified as active participants (one can never be too careful these days – and I do not mean the citizens of the city who exercised their right to demonstrate or were simply in the city center) have been largely anonymized. If you require further anonymization, please contact me.
